SERVICE DEFINITIONS:
Lippage Removal: A wet metal diamond process that sands uneven tiles to a flat smooth surface.
Honing: A wet diamond process, of several stages, that brings stone surfaces from a rough open (heavily scratched) state, to a smooth, satin finished state with very few scratches and having some reflection.
Polishing: A chemical and/or a mechanical process that 'closes' the surface of a stone and brings the surface to a polished state. It yields very good reflective properties.
Cleaning: A chemical or mechanical process designed to remove wax, dirt, and stains from the surface and pores of natural stone or grout, returning the surface to a clean condition.
Impregnation: The application of a solvent or water based silicone solution that penetrates into the pores of stone and grout, allowing the stone to breathe, yet resisting water penetration and making the surface easier to clean.
Colour Enhamcement: The application of a chemical that will penetrate into the upper layer of a stone and darken or draw out the colours in a stone. It is most commonly used for exterior applications. |
